Lucas Duda traded to Rays

Lucas Duda was traded by the New York Mets to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 27, 2017. The Mets in exchange received Drew Smith.

Duda is a 1B\OF who split 2017 between Class A Advanced St Lucie while rehabbing and with the Mets. He hit 4 for 16, .250/.368/.625 with 2 HR, 3 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 5 games at St Lucie and 62 for 252, .246/.347/.532 with 17 HR, 37 RBI, 30 R, 0 SB in 75 games with the Mets. Over eight MLB seasons with the Mets he hit .246/.343/.457 with 125 HR, 378 RBI, 325 R, 5 SB in 760 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the seventh round in 2007. Duda turned 31 on February 3rd. 

RHP Smith had split 2017 between Class A Advanced Lakeland before being traded by the Tigers, Class A Advanced Charlotte, Double A Montgomery and Triple A Durham. He was 1-0, 0.77 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, .108 BAA in 11.2 IP over 7 games at Lakeland, 0-2, 2.20 ERA, 28 K, 1.08 WHIP, .239 BAA, 7 SV in 28.2 IP over 20 games at Charlotte, 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 0.27 WHIP, .091 BAA in 3.2 IP over 3 games at Montgomery and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 1.00 WHIP, .333 BAA in 1.0 IP in 1 game at Durham. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the third round in 2015. Smith will be 24 on September 24.
