Miguel Montero traded to Blue Jays
Miguel Montero was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 3, 2017 for a PTBNL. The catcher hit 28 for 98, .286/.366/.439 with 4 HR, 8 RBI, 12 R, 1 SB in 44 games with the Cubs in 2017. Over 12 MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Cubs and Diamondbacks he hit .259/.342/.416 with 124 HR, 542 RBI, 447 R, 5 SB in 1150 games. His career MLB caught stealing rate is 27% while he was 1 for 32 this season with the Cubs. He originally signed with the Diamondbacks in 2001 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela and was traded to the Cubs in 2014. Montero will be 34 on July 9.
