Jonathan Diaz was traded by the Toronto Blue Jays to the New York Yankees on July 5, 2017 for TBD. The second baseman had split 2017 between Double A New Hampshire and Triple A Buffalo. He hit 3 for 11, .273/.556/.545 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 5 games at New Hampshire and 16 for 88, .182/.348/.239 with 0 HR, 6 RBI, 12 R, 1 SB in 37 games at Buffalo. OVer three MLB seasons with the Blue Jays and Red Sox he hit .145/.242/.164 with 0 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB in 35 games. HE was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 12th round in 2006. Diaz turned 32 on April 10.
