The rosters have been revealed for the 2017 Futures Game to be played on July 9 at Marlins Park, home of the Miami Marlins. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the outfielders on the World team.
Ronald Acuna is a right-handed outfielder who has split 2017 between Class A Advanced Florida and Double A Mississippi of the Atlanta Braves. He has hit 33 for 115, .287/.336/.478 with 3 HR, 19 RBI, 21 R, 14 SB in 28 games at Florida and 57 for 181, .315/.370/.481 with 6 HR, 24 RBI, 23 R, 16 SB in 47 games at Mississippi. He originally signed with the Braves in 2014 as an amateur free agent. Acuna was born in La Guaira, Venezula and turned 19 on December 18.
Estevan Florial is a right-hand throwing and left-hand hitting outfielder at Class A Charleston of the New York Yankees. He has hit 79 for 259, .305/.383/.514 with 10 HR, 34 RBI, 50 R, 13 SB in 68 games. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2015 as an amateur free agent. Florial was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and turned 19 on November 25.
Eloy Jimenez is a right-handed outfielder at Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach of the Chicago Cubs. He has hit 34 for 126, .270/.361/.500 with 7 HR, 26 RBI, 18 R, 0 SB in 35 games. He originally signed with the Cubs in 2013 as an amateur free agent. Jimenez was born in Santo Domingo Centro, Dominican Republic and turned 20 on November 27. He was also on the 2016 team.
Victor Robles is a right-handed outfielder at Class A Advanced Potomac of the Washington Nationals. He has hit 69 for 234, .295/.387/.521 with 7 HR, 29 RBI, 44 R, 13 SB in 63 games. He originally signed with the Nationals in 2013 as an amateur free agent. Robles was born in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic and turned 20 on May 19.
Alex Verdugo is a left-handed outfielder at at Triple A Oklahoma City of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has hit 95 for 270, .352/.420/.467 with 3 HR, 38 RBI, 48 R, 8 SB in 72 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2014. Verdugo was born in Tuscon, AZ and turned 21 on May 15. He represents Mexico.
