2012 Where are they now 2010 MLB draft picks 41 to 50

The 2012 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 41 to 50 (which closed out the first round) of the 2010 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted RHP Asher Wojciechowski 41st out of The Citadel. He split 2012 between the Blue Jays and Astros organizations after he was traded in July. Before the traded he pitched at Class A Advanced Dunedin and was 7-3 with a 3.57 ERA, 76 K, 1.21 WHIP in 93.1 IP over 18 games. After the trade he pitched at Double A Corpus Christi and was 2-2 with a 2.06 ERA, 34 K, 1.01 WHIP in 43.2 IP over 8 games.

The Tampa Bay Rays drafted outfielder Drew Vettleson 42nd out of Central Kitsap School in Silverdale, WA. He played 2012 at Class A Bowling Green. He hit .275/.340/.432 with 15 HR, 69 RBI, 80 R, 20 SB in 132 games.

The Seattle Mariners drafted RHP Taijuan Walker 43rd out of Yucaipa High School in Yucaipa, CA. He pitched 2012 at Double A Jackson. He was 7-10 with a 4.69 ERA, 118 K, 1.37 WHIP in 126.2 IP over 25 games.

The Detroit Tigers drafted third baseman Nick Castellanos 44th out of Archbishop McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches, FL. He split 2012 between Class A Advanced Lakeland and Double A Erie. He hit .405/.461/.553 with 3 HR, 32 RBI, 37 R, 3 SB in 55 games at Lakeland and hit .264/.296/.382 with 7 HR, 25 RBI, 35 R, 5 SB in 79 games at Erie.

The Texas Rangers drafted RHP Luke Jackson 45th out of Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He split 2012 between Class A Hickory and Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach. He was 5-5 with a 4.92 ERA, 72 K, 1.50 WHIP in 64.0 IP over 13 games at Hickory and was 5-2 with a 4.39 ERA, 74 K, 1.51 WHIP in 65.2 IP over 13 games at Myrtle Beach.

The St Louis Cardinals drafted RHP Seth Blair 46th out of Arizona State. He split 2012 between Rookie Gulf Coast and Class A Advanced Palm Beach. He was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP in 3.0 IP over 2 games at Gulf Coast and was 1-3 with a 5.40 ERA, 12 K, 1.92 WHIP in 16.2 IP over 5 games at Palm Beach.
