2012 Where are they now 2007 MLB draft picks 21 to 30

The 2012 season is behind us and I'm checking how picks 21 to 30 of the 2007 draft did this season. Traditionally players drafted out of college advance faster than those drafted out of high school and pitchers usually advance faster than position players. Some players might also be traded to help their team get an established player that can help their team improve immediately.

The Toronto Blue Jays drafted catcher J.P Arencibia 21st out of Tennessee. He played 2012 with the Blue Jays. He hit .233/.275/.435 with 18 HR, 56 RBI, 45 R, 1 SB in 102 games.

He split 2012 between Double A Altoona and Triple A Indianapolis. He was 5-4 with a 4.25 ERA, 62 K, 1.36 WHIP, 3 SV in 84.2 IP over 26 games at Altoona and was 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA, 4 K, 1.75 WHIP in 4.0 IP over 2 games at Indianapolis.

The San Diego Padres drafted LHP Nick Schmidt 23rd out of Arkansas. He was traded to the Rockies in 2011. He split 2012 between Double A Tulsa and Triple A Colorado Springs. He was 5-3 with a 3.29 ERA, 73 K, 1.08 WHIP in 82.0 IP over 14 games at Tulsa and was 7-3 with a 5.68 ERA, 47 K, 1.71 WHIP in 65.0 IP over 12 games at Colorado Springs.

The Texas Rangers drafted RHP Michael Main 24th out of DeLand High School in DeLand, FL. He was traded to the Giants in 2010. He switched position to the outfield and split 2012 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Class A Jamestown, and Class A Advanced Jupiter. He hit .340/.392/.426 with 0 HR, 7 RBI, 10 R, 1 SB in 11 games at Gulf Coast, hit .276/.339/.374 with 2 HR, 20 RBI, 18 R, 5 SB in 41 games at Jamestown and hit .200/.333/.200 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Jupiter.

The Chicago White Sox drafted LHP Aaron Poreda 25th out of University of San Francisco. He was traded to the Padres in 2009. He was selected by the Pirates in the Triple A portion of the Rule 5 draft in December 2011. In 2012 he pitched at Double A Altoona and was 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 11 K, 1.44 WHIP in 16.0 IP over 3 games.

The Minnesota Twins drafted outfielder Ben Revere 28th out of Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, KY. He split 2012 between Triple A Rochester and the Twins.
