Jake McGee was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Colorado Rockies on January 28, 2016 along with German Marquez. The Rays in exchange received Corey Dickerson and Kevin Padlo.
LHP McGee split 2015 between Class A Advanced Charlotte and Triple A Durham while rehabbing and the Rays. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP, .000 BAA in 2.0 IP over 2 games at Charlotte, 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 5 K, 1.00 WHIP, .154 BAA in 4.0 IP over 4 games at Durham and 1-2, 2.41 ERA, 48 K, 0.94 WHIP, .197 BAA, 6 SV in 37.1 IP over 39 games with the Rays. Over seven MLB seasons with the Rockies and Rays he is 21-12, 2.84 ERA, 333 K, 1.05 WHIP, .210 BAA, 40 SV in 279.1 IP over 318 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the fifth round in 2004. McGee will be 30 on August 6th.
RHP Marquez was 7-13, 3.56 ERA, 104 K, 1.27 WHIP, .272 BAA in 139.0 IP over 26 games at Charlotte in 2015. He originally signed with the Rays in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Marquez turned 21 on February 22.
Dickerson is an OF\DH who split 2015 between Class A Advanced Modesto, Triple A Albuquerque while rehabbing and the Rockies. He hit .375/.375/.375 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Modesto, .286/.310/.429 with 1 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 7 games at Albuquerque and .304/.333/.536 with 10 HR, 31 RBI, 30 R, 0 SB in 65 games with the Rockies. Over four MLB seasons with the Rays and Rockies he has hit .282/.329/.518 with 48 HR, 148 RBI, 151 R, 10 SB in 313 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the eighth round in 2010. Dickerson turned 27 on May 22.
Padlo is a third baseman who split 2015 between Class A Boise and Class A Asheville. He hit .294/.404/502 with 9 HR, 26 RBI, 44 R, 33 SB in 70 games at Boise and .145/.273/.277 with 2 HR, 7 rBI, 11 R, 2 SB in 27 games at Asheville. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the fifth round in 2014. Padlo will be 20 on July 15.
