Jose Martinez traded to Cardinals

Jose Martinez was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the St Louis Cardinals on May 25, 2016 for cash. The outfielder hit 42 for 141, .298/.356/.433 with 3 HR, 18 RBI, 18 R, 2 SB in 37 games at Triple A to start 2016. He originally signed with the White Sox in 2006 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Martinez will be 28 on July 25.
