Erik Kratz traded to Pirates
Erik Kratz was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 11, 2016 for cash. The catcher had hit 9 for 39, .231/.268/.308 with 0 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB in 12 games at Triple A Salt Lake after starting the season with the Astros where he hit 2 for 29, .069/.100/.103 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 15 games. Over seven MLB seasons with the Pirates, Astros, Phillies, Royals, Blue Jays and Phillies he has hit .208/.259/.378 with 23 HR, 69 RBI, 52 R, 0 SB in 209 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 34%. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 29th round in 2002. Kratz will be 36 on June 15.
