Kelly Johnson traded to Mets

Kelly Johnson was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the New York Mets on June 8, 2016 along with cash. The Braves in exchange received Akeel Morris. 

Johnson is a 2B\OF who had hit .215/.273/.289 with 1 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB in 49 games with the Braves in 2016. Over 11 MLB seasons with the Mets, Braves, Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays, and Diamondbacks he has hit .250/.330/.420 with 146 HR, 526 RBI, 615 R, 84 SB in 1318 games. He was originally drafted by the Braves with the 38th pick of the first round in 2000. Johnson turned 34 on February 22.

RHP Morris was 2-2, 4.62 ERA, 36 K, 1.38 WHIP, .207 BAA, 6 SV in 25.1 IP over 22 games at Double A Binghamton to start 2016. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the 10th round in 2010. Morris turned 23 on November 14.
