Jason Grilli traded to Blue Jays

Jason Grilli was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Toronto Blue Jays on May 31, 2016 along with cash. The Braves in exchange received Sean Ratcliffe.

RHP Grilli was 1-2, 5.29 ERA, 23 K, 1.71 WHIP, .242 BAA, 2 SV in 17.0 IP over 21 games with the Braves to start 2016. Over 14 MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Braves, Angels, Pirates, Rangers, Rockies, Tigers, White Sox and Marlins he is 26-38, 4.10 ERA, 593 K, 1.37 WHIP, .249 BAA, 76 SV in 605.1 IP over 507 games with 16 GS. He was originally drafted by the Giants with the fourth pick of the first round in 1997. Grilli turned 39 on November 11.

RHP Ratcliffe has yet to pitch in 2016 bit was 2-2, 3.60 ERA, 30 K, 1.30 WHIP, .245 BAA in 40.0 IP over 22 games with 1 GS at Class A Vancouver in 2015. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 18th round in 2013. Ratcliffe turned 21 on April 11.
