Jose Valdez traded to Angels

Jose Valdez was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Los Angeles Angels on June 7, 2016 for cash. The RHP had split 2016 between Double A Erie and Triple A Toledo. He was 2-1, 5.59 ERA, 8 K, 2.07 WHIP, .351 BAA in 9.2 IP over 8 games at Erie and 0-0, 3.48 ERA, 8 K, 1.16 WHIP, .200 BAA in 10.1 IP over 8 games at Toledo. He did reach the Tigers in 2015 going 0-1, 4.00 ERA, 4 K, 1.56 WHIP, .286 BAA in 9.0 IP over 7 games. He originally signed with the Tigers in 2009 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Valdez turned 26 on March 1st.
