Kris Bryant 5 for 5 3 HR game vs Reds

Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs had a milestone day at the plate going 5 for 5 with three home runs in an 11-8 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on June 27, 2016. The effort also allowed RHP Jake Arrieta to push his record to 12-2. Bryant warmed up with a double in the first, hit a solo shot in the third, had a three run blast in the fourth, added another double in the sixth and capped the night with another solo shot in the eighth. He also finished with six RBI and four runs scored while he played third, right field and left field. The performance set the Cubs single game total bases record with 16 and he became the first player in MLB history with 3 HR and 2 2B in the same game. This season he is hitting .278/.367/.567 with 21 HR, 57 RBI, 59 R, 2 SB in 73 games. Over two MLB seasons with the Cubs he is hitting .276/.371/.515 with 47 HR, 156 RBI, 147 R, 15 SB in 224 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs with the second pick of the first round in 2013. Bryant turned 24 on January 4th.
