James Loney traded to Mets
James Loney was traded by the San Diego Padres to the New York Mets on May 28, 2016 for cash. The outfielder had hit 54 for 158, .342/.373/.424 with 2 HR, 28 RBI, 22 R, 0 SB in 43 games at Triple A El Paso to start 2016. Over 11 MLB seasons with the Mets, Rays, Red Sox and Dodgers he has hit .285/.338/.410 with 100 HR, 638 RBI, 502 R, 38 SB in 1353 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers with the 19th pick of the first round in 2002. Loney turned 32 on May 7th.
