Jefry Marte traded to Angels

Jefry Marte was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Los Angeles Angels on January 27, 2016. The Tigers in exchange received Kody Eaves.

Marte is a 1B\3B who split 2015 between Triple A Toledo and the Tigers. He hit .275/.341/.487 with 15 HR, 65 RBI, 49 R, 8 SB in 95 games at Toledo and .213/.284/.413 with 4 HR, 11 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB in 33 games with the Tigers. He originally signed with the Mets as an amateur free agent in 2007 out of the Dominican Republic. Marte will be 25 on June 21.

Eaves is a second baseman who hit .248/.308/.387 with 11 HR, 71 RBI, 70 R, 21 SB in 134 games at Class A Advanced Inland Empire in 2015. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 16th round in 2012. Eaves will be 23 on July 8th.
