Giovanni Soto was traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Chicago Cubs on April 11, 2016 for cash.The LHP split 2015 between Triple A Columbus and the Indians. He was 2-1, 2.68 ERA, 51 K, 1.19 WHIP, .187 BAA, 2 SV in 53.2 IP over 46 games with 1 GS at Columbus and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 0.90 WHIP, .231 BAA in 3.1 IP over 6 games with the Indians. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the 21st round in 2009 and was traded to the Indians in 2010. Soto turned 25 on May 18.
