Vladimir Guerrero retires
Vladimir Guerrero announced his retirement from playing baseball in March 2014. The outfielder had 16 seasons MLB experience playing with the Expos (1996-2003), Angels (2004-2009), Rangers (2010) and Orioles (2011). He did not play in 2013. For his MLB career he hit .318/.379/.553 with 449 HR, 1496 RBI, 1328 R, 181 SB in 2147 games. He was the American League MVP in 2004 when he hit .337/.391/.598 with 39 HR, 126 RBI, 124 R, 15 SB in 156 games with the Angels. He originally signed with the Expos in 1993 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Guerrero was 39 at the time of his retirement.
