This is the second segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 7-9. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 8-9.
Bubba continues to struggle this week as he hit 3 for 17 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R, 1 SB in 6 games. Two of his hits were doubles which is promising. For the season he is now hitting .132/.292/.264 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB in 15 games
Fred had a good week hitting 9 for 26 with 0 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R, 1 SB in 7 games. For the season he is hitting .302/.367/.547 with 2 HR, 16 RBI, 9 R, 4 SB in 16 games.
