Jedd Gyorko Contract Extension with Padres

Jedd Gyorko and the San Diego Padres agreed to terms on a six year extension for $35 million. The 2B\3B has started his second season with the Padres. In 2013 he hit .249/.301/.444 with 23 HR, 63 RBI, 62 R, 1 SB in 125 games. He has started off slow in 2014 hitting .148/.243/.246 with 1 HR, 8 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 18 games. That was after an average spring training where he hit .262/.292/.426 with 1 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB in 20 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres in the second round in 2010. Gyorko will be 26 on September 23.
