Gorkys Hernandez traded to White Sox

Gorkys Hernandez was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Chicago White Sox on April 11, 2014 in exchange for cash. The outfielder split 2013 between Triple A New Orleans of the Marlins and Triple A Omaha of the Royals after a July trade. He hit .275/.330/.375 with 4 HR, 22 RBI, 45 R, 22 SB in 90 games at New Orleans and hit .231/.286/.347 with 2 HR, 10 RBI, 14 R, 3 SB in 34 games at Omaha. Hernandez did have one season MLB experience in 2012 playing with the Pirates and Marlins as he hit .192/.267/.301 with 3 HR, 13 RBI, 18 R, 7 SB in 70 games. He originally signed with the Tigers in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Hernandez will be 27 on September 7th.
