This is the third segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 9-12. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 11-12.
Bubba continues to have trouble at the plate as he was 3 for 19 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games. This season he is now hitting .139/.267/.250 with 1 HR, 6 RBI, 10 R, 1 SB in 20 games.
Fred slumped this week hitting only 1 for 16 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 5 games. For the season he is now hitting .246/.325/.435 with 2 HR, 17 RBI, 9 R, 4 SB in 21 games.
