Eduardo Nunez traded to Twins

Eduardo Nunez was traded by the New York Yankees to the Minnesota Twins on April 7, 2014. In exchange the Yankees received Miguel Sulbaran.

Nunez is a SS/3B/2B with four seasons MLB experience playing with the Yankees. He split 2013 between Class A Charleston, Class A Advanced Tampa and Double A Trenton while rehabbing and with the Yankees. He hit .400/.500/.400 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB in 2 games at Charleston, .333/.600/.333 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 2 SB in 2 games at Tampa, .375/.444/.375 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Trenton and .260/.307/.372 with 3 HR, 28 RBI, 38 R, 10 SB in 90 games with the Yankees. For his MLB career he has hit .267/.313/.379 with 10 HR, 76 RBI, 102 R, 48 SB in 270 games. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Nunez will be 27 on June 15.

LHP Sulbaran split 2013 between Class A Great Lakes of the Dodgers and Class A Cedar Rapids of the Twins. He was traded to the Twins in August 2013. He was 6-4, 3.01 ERA, 85 K, 1.25 WHIP, 1 SV  in 92.2 IP over 23 games at Great Lakes and was 3-0, 2.70 ERA, 16 K, 1.30 WHIP in 20.0 IP over 4 games at Cedar Rapids. He originally signed with the Dodgers in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Sulbaran turned 20 on March 19.
