Stanley Coveleski was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1969 along with Roy Campanella, Waite Hoyt and Stan Musial. Coveleski was a RHP with 14 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Philadelphia Athletics (1912), Cleveland Indians (1916-1924), Washington Senators (1925-1927) and New York Yankees (1928). For his MLB career he was 215-142 with a 2.89 ERA, 981 K, 1.25 WHIP, 21 SV, 224 complete games, 38 shut outs in 3082.0 IP over 450 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1925 when he was 20-5 with a 2.84 ERA, 58 K, 1.26 WHIP, 15 complete games, 3 shut outs in 241.0 IP over 32 games, 1919 when he was 24-12 with a 2.61 ERA, 118 K, 1.21 WHIP, 4 SV, 24 complete games, 4 shut outs in 286.0 IP over 43 games and 1918 when he was 22-13 with a 1.81 ERA, 87 K, 1.08 WHIP, 3 SV, 25 complete games, 2 shut outs in 311.0 IP over 38 games.
Coveleski led the American League in ERA in 1923 (2.76) and 1925. He led the AL in strikeouts in 1920 (133). He led the AL in shut outs in 1917 (9) and 1923 (5).
Coveleski won the World Series Championship with the Indians in 1920.
