Charles D (Casey) Stengel was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1966 along with Ted Williams. Stengel was an outfielder with 14 seasons MLB experience playing with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1912), Brooklyn Superbas (1913), Brooklyn Robins (1914-1917), Pittsburgh Pirates (1918-1919), Philadelphia Phillies (1920-1921), New York Giants (1921-1923) and Boston Braves (1924-1925). For his MLB career he hit .284/.356/.410 with 60 HR, 535 RBI, 575 R, 131 SB in 1277 games. Stengel won the World Series Championship with the Giants in 1922.
However it was his career as a manager that warranted his inclusion into the Hall of Fame. He was the manager for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1934-1936) with a 208-251 record, Boston Bees\Braves (1938-1943) with a 373-491 record, New York Yankees (1949-1960) with a 1149-696 record and New York Mets (1962-1965) with a 175-404 record. His 1905 wins ranks 11th all time. Stengel won the World Series Championship seven times with the Yankees in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1956 and 1958.
