Miller J Huggins was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1964 along with Luke Appling, Red Faber, Burleigh Grimes, Timothy Keefe, Henry Manush and Monte Ward. Huggins was a second baseman with 13 seasons MLB experience playing with the Cincinnati Reds (1904-1909) and St Louis Cardinals (1910-1916). For his MLB career he hit .265/.382/.314 with 9 HR, 318 RBI, 948 R, 324 SB in 1586 games,
However it was his career as a manager that warranted his inclusion in the Hall of Fame. He was the manager for the St Louis Cardinals (1913-1917) with a 346-415 record and New York Yankees (1918-1929) with a 1067-719 record. His 1413 wins ranks 24th on the all time list. Huggins won three World Series Championships with the Yankees in 1923, 1927 and 1928.
