Ford C Frick was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1970 along with Lou Boudreau, Earle Combs and Jesse Haines. Frick was inducted into as a pioneer and executive. He started out as a sports writer in the Midwest and moved to New York City to work for William Randolph Hearst's newspapers. Frick is credited with the creation of radio sports reports which aired daily giving scores and news.
He served as the National League president 1934-1951. One of his major accomplishments was helping establish the Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY to honor the greats of the game. Then he served as the third Commissioner of Major League Baseball 1951-1965.
