Jack R Robinson was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1962 along with Bob Feller, William McKechnie and Edd Roush. Robinson was a 2B\3B\1B with 10 seasons MLB experience playing all with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1947-1956). Robinson was the first black player to play in the Major League since the 1880s and helped break the color barrier for all that followed after him. For his MLB career he hit .311/.409/.474 with 137 HR, 734 RBI, 947 R, 197 SB in 1382 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1949 when he hit .342/.432/.528 with 16 HR, 124 RBI, 122 R, 37 SB in 156 games, 1953 when he hit .329/.425/.502 with 12 HR, 95 RBI, 109 R, 17 SB in 136 games and 1951 when he hit .338/.429/.527 with 19 HR, 88 RBI, 106 R, 25 SB in 153 games.
He won National League Rookie of the Year in 1947 when he hit .297/.383/.427 with 12 HR, 48 RBI, 125 R, 29 SB in 151 games.
Robinson was the National League batting champ in 1949. He led the NL in stolen bases in 1947 and 1949
He was an All Star six times (1949-1954). Robinson was the National League MVP in 1949. He won the World Series Championship with the Dodgers in 1955.
