Lloyd J Waner was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1967 along with Branch Rickey and Red Ruffing. Waner was an outfielder with 18 seasons MLB experience playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1927-1941, 1944-1945), Boston Braves (1941), Cincinnati Reds (1941), Philadelphia Phillies (1942) and Brooklyn Dodgers (1944). For his MLB career he hit .316/.353/.393 with 27 HR, 598 RBI, 1201 R, 67 SB in 1993 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1929 when he hit .353/.395/.479 with 5 HR, 74 RBI, 134 R, 6 SB in 151 games, 1928 when he hit .335/.377/.434 with 5 HR, 61 RBI, 121 R, 8 SB in 152 games and 1927 when he hit .355/.396/.410 with 2 HR, 27 RBI, 133 R, 14 SB in 150 games.
Waner led the National League in triples in 1929 (20). He led the NL in runs in 1927.
He was selected to the All Star game in 1938. On June 26, 1935 Waner had a MLB record 18 putouts in a doubleheader against the Boston Braves while playing center field.
