Eppa Rixey was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1963 along with John Clarkson, Elmer Flick and Sam Rice. Rixey was a LHP with 21 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Philadelphia Phillies (1912-1917, 1919-1920) and Cincinnati Reds (1921-1933). For his MLB career he was 266-251 with a 3.15 ERA, 1350 K, 1.27 WHIP, 14 SV, 290 complete games, 37 shut outs in 4494.2 IP over 692 games.
I believe his three best seasons were 1922 when he was 25-13 with a 3.53 ERA, 80 K, 1.22 WHIP, 26 complete games, 2 shut outs in 313.1 IP over 50 games, 1916 when he was 22-10 with a 1.85 ERA, 134 K, 1.09 WHIP, 20 complete games, 3 shut outs in 287.0 IP over 38 games and 1925 when he was 21-11 with a 2.88 ERA, 69 K, 1.21 WHIP, 1 SV, 22 complete games, 2 shut outs in 287.1 IP over 39 games.
Rixey led the National League in wins in 1922. He led the NL in shut outs in 1924 (4).
