Jean Segura traded to Diamondbacks

Jean Segura was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Arizona Diamondbacks on January 30, 2016 along with Tyler Wagner. The Brewers in exchange received Chase Anderson, Aaron Hill, Isan Diaz and cash.

Segura is a SS\2B who hit .257/.281/.336 with 6 HR, 50 RBI, 57 R, 25 SB in 142 games with the Brewers in 2015. Over five MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, Brewers and Angels he has hit .270/.305/.371 with 28 HR, 171 RBI, 239 R, 102 SB in 532 games. He originally signed with the Angels in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic and was traded to the Brewers in 2012. Segura turned 26 on March 17.

RHP Wagner split 2015 between Double A Biloxi and the Brewers. He was 11-5, 2.25 ERA, 120 K, 1.15 WHIP, .235 BAA in 152.1 IP over 25 games at Biloxi and 0-2, 7.24 ERA, 5 K, 2.12 WHIP, .386 BAA in 13.2 IP over 3 games with the Brewers. He was originally drafted by the Brewers in the fourth round in 2012. Wagner turned 25 on January 24.

RHP split 2015 between Rookie Arizona while rehabbing and the Diamondbacks. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 3 K, 1.00 WHIP, .250 BAA in 4.0 IP in 1 game at Rookie Arizona and 6-6, 4.30 ERA, 111 K, 1.30 WHIP, .272 BAA in 152.2 IP over 27 games with the Diamondbacks. Over three MLB seasons with the Brewers and Diamondbacks he is 18-19, 4.27 ERA, 264 K, 1.32 WHIP, .268 BAA in 326.2 IP over 59 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the ninth round in 2009. Anderson turned 28 on November 30.

Hill is a 2B\3B\SS who hit .230/.295/.345 with 6 HR, 39 RBI, 32 R, 7 SB in 116 games with the Diamondbacks in 2015. Over 12 MLB seasons with the Brewers, Diamondbacks and Blue Jays he has hit .268/.323/.423 with 157 HR, 671 RBI, 700 R, 73 SB in 1451 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays with the 13th pick of the first round in 2003 and traded to the Diamondbacks in 2011. Hill turned 34 on March 21.

Diaz is a SS\2B who hit .360/.436/.640 with 13 HR, 51 RBI, 58 R, 12 SB in 68 games at Rookie Missoula in 2015. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks in the second round in 2014. Diaz turned 20 on May 27.
