Max Scherzer June 2015 NL Pitcher of the Month
Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals was selected the National League Pitcher of the Month for June 2015. During the month the RHP was 3-2, 2.35 ERA, 45 K, 0.62 WHIP, .145 ERA in 38.2 IP over 5 games. The span also inclued a one hitter against the Brewers and a no-hitter against the Pirates. The award is a repeat performace after winning it last month. This season he is 9-6, 1.82 ERA, 139 K, 0.78 WHIP, .181 BAA in 118.2 IP over 16 games. Over eight MLB seasons with the Nationals, Tigers and Diamondbacks he is 100-56, 3.43 ERA, 1460 K, 1.18 WHIP, .237 BAA in 1358.0 IP over 223 games. He was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks with the 11th pick of the first round in 2006. Scherzer will be 31 on July 27.
