Shane Victorino was traded by the Boston Red Sox to the Los Angeles Angels on July 27, 2015 along with cash. The Red Sox in exchange received Josh Rutledge.
Victorino is an outfielder who had split 2015 between Double A Portland, Triple A Pawtucket, the Red Sox and the DL. He hit .154/.214/.231 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Portland, .308/.308/.385 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Pawtucket and .245/.324/.298 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 10 R, 5 SB in 33 games with the Red Sox. Over 12 MLB seasons with the Red Sox, Dodgers, Phillies and Padres he has hit .276/.341/.428 with 108 HR, 486 RBI, 722 R, 229 SB in 1261 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round in 1999. Victorino turned 34 on November 30.
Rutledge is a 2B\SS who had split 2015 between Rookie Arizona and Triple A Salt Lake. He hit .583/.643/1.167 with 1 HR, 2 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB in 3 games at Arizona and .274/.323/.403 with 5 HR, 32 RBI, 45 R, 2 SB in 78 games at Salt Lake. He does have three seasons MLB experience with the Colorado Rockies hitting .259/.308/.403 with 19 HR, 89 RBI, 126 R, 21 SB in 266 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the third round in 2010. Rutledge turned 26 on April 21.
