David Price traded to Blue Jays

David Price was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, 2015. The Tigers in exchange received Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt.

LHP Price was 9-4, 2.53 ERA, 138 K, 1.11 WHIP, .241 BAA in 146.0 IP over 21 games with Detroit in 2015. Over eight MLB seasons with the Tigers and Rays he is 95-55, 3.13 ERA, 1285 K, 1.14 WHIP, .235 BAA in 1367.1 IP over 207 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays with the first over all pick in 2007. Price will be 30 on August 26. 

LHP Norris had split 2015 between Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays. He was 3-10, 4.27 ERA, 78 K, 1.51 WHIP, .270 BAA in 90.2 IP over 16 games at Buffalo and 1-1, 3.86 ERA, 18 K, 1.50 WHIP, .267 BAA in 23.1 IP over 5 games with the Blue Jays. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the second round in 2011. Norris turned 22 on April 25.

LHP Boyd had split 2015 between Double A New Hampshire and Triple A Buffalo. He was 6-1, 1.10 ERA, 70 K, 0.77 WHIP, .155 BAA in 73.2 IP over 12 GS at New Hampshire and 3-1, 2.77 ERA, 37 K, 0.97 WHIP, .219 BAA in 39.0 IP over 6 GS at Buffalo. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the sixth round in 2013. Boyd turned 24 on February 2nd.

LHP Labourt had pitched at Class A Advanced Dunedin where he was 2-7, 4.59 ERA, 70 K, 1.58 WHIP, .263 BAA in 80.1 IP over 18 games. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Labourt turned 22 on March 7th.
