Troy Tulowitzki was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 28, 2015 along with LaTroy Hawkins. The Rockies in exchange received Jose Reyes, Miguel Castro, Jeff Hoffman and Jesus Tinoco.
Tulowitzki is a shortstop who was hitting .300/.348/.471 with 12 HR, 53 RBI, 46 R, 0 SB in 87 games with the Rockies in 2015. Over 10 MLB seasons with the Rockies he hit .299/.371/.513 with 188 HR, 657 RBI, 660 R, 55 SB in 1048 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies with the seventh pick of the first round in 2005. Tulowitzki will be 31 on October 10.
RHP Hawkins had split 2015 between Triple A Albuquerque and the Rockies. He was 0-0, 7.71 ERA, 4 K, 1.93 WHIP, .348 BAA in 4.2 IP over 5 games at Albuquerque and 2-1, 3.63 ERA, 20 K, 1.16 WHIP, .259 BAA, 2 SV in 22.1 IP over 24 games with the Rockies. Over 21 MLB seasons with the Rockies, Mets, Angels, Astros, Yankees, Orioles, Giants, Cubs and Twins he is 74-94, 4.32 ERA, 969 K, 1.41 WHIP, .279 BAA, 126 SV in 1451.0 IP over 1024 games with 98 GS. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the seventh round in 1991. Hawkins turned 42 on December 21.
Reyes is a shortstop had split 2015 between Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays. He hit .364/.462/.364 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 3 games at Buffalo and .285/.322/.385 with 4 HR, 34 RBI, 36 R, 16 SB in 69 games with the Blue Jays. Over 13 MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Marlins and Mets he has hit .291/.340/.433 with 115 HR, 602 RBI, 1009 R, 471 SB in 1515 games..He originally signed with the Mets as an amateur free agent in 1999 out of the Dominican Republic, signed as a free agent with the Marlins in 2011 and was traded to the Blue Jays in 2012. Reyes turned 32 on June 11.
RHP Castro had split 2015 between Class A Advanced Dunedin, Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays, He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 K, 0.20 WHIP, .000 BAA in 5.0 IP over 3 games at Dunedin, 1-3, 4.58 ERA, 21 K, 1.93 WHIP, .313 BAA in 19.2 IP over 13 games at Buffalo with 5 GS and 0-2, 4.38 ERA, 12 K, 1.70 WHIP, .306 BAA, 4 SV in 12.1 IP over 13 games with the Blue Jays. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Castro turned 20 on December 24.
RHP Hoffman had split 2015 between Dunedin and Double A New Hampshire. He was 3-3, 3.21 ERA, 38 K, 1.32 WHIP, .284 BAA in 56.0 IP over 11 games at Dunedin and 0-0, 1.54 ERA, 8 K, 0.94 WHIP, 214 BAA in 11.2 IP over 2 games at New Hampshire. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays with the ninth pick of the first round in 2014. Hoffman turned 22 on January 8th.
RHP Tinoco pitched at Class A Lansing where he was 2-6, 3.54 ERA, 68 K, 1.35 WHIP, .270 BAA in 81.1 IP over 15 games. He originally signed with the Blue Jays in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Tinoco turned 20 on April 30.
