Mike Leake traded to Giants

Mike Leake was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the San Francisco Giants on July 30, 2015. The Reds in exchange received Adam Duvall and Keury Mella. 

RHP Leake was 9-5, 3.56 ERA, 90 K, 1.15 WHIP, .240 BAA in 136.2 IP over 21 games with the Reds in 2015. Over six MLB seasons with the Reds he was 62-47, 3.87 ERA, 701 K, 1.28 WHIP, .266 BAA in 1028.1 IP over 168 games. He was originally drafted by the Reds with the eighth pick of the first round in 2009. Leake turned 27 on November 12.

Duvall is a first baseman who played at Triple A Sacramento where he hit .281/.325/.547 with 26 HR, 80 RBI, 60 R, 4 SB in 100 games. He did have some MLB experience with the Giants in 2014 hitting .192/.234/.342 with 3 HR, 5 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB in 28 games. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the 11th round in 2010. Duvall will be 27 on September 4th.

RHP Mella pitches at Class A Advanced San Jose where he was 5-3, 3.31 ERA, 83 K, 1.13 WHIP, .216 BAA in 81.2 IP over 16 games in 2015. He originally signed with the Giants in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Mella will be 22 on August 2nd.
