Wilbert Robinson was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1945 along with Roger Bresnahan, Dan Brouthers, Fred Clarke, James Collins, Edward Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Hugh Jennings, King Kelly and James O'Rourke. Robinson was a catcher with 17 seasons MLB experience playing with the Philadelphia Athletics (1886-1890), Baltimore Orioles (1890-1899, 1901-1902) and St Louis Cardinals (1900). For his MLB career he hit .275/.317/.348 with 18 HR, 722 RBI, 637 R, 196 SB in 1356 games.
However it was his managerial career that warranted his inclusion to the MLB Hall of Fame. He got his start with the Orioles in 1902 and was 24-57. Later he managed the Brooklyn Robins for 18 seasons (1914-1931) where he had a 1375-1341 record. His 1399 career wins ranks 27th all time.
