Roger P Bresnahan was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1945 along with Dan Brouthers, Fred Clarke, James Collins, Edward Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Hugh Jennings, King Kelly, James O'Rourke and Wilbert Robinson. Bresnahan was a C/OF with 17 seasons MLB experience playing with the Washington Senators (1897), Chicago Orphans (1900), Baltimore Orioles (1901-1902), New York Giants (1902-1908), St Louis Cardinals (1909-1912) and Chicago Cubs (1913-1915). For his MLB career he hit .279/.386/.377 with 26 HR, 530 RBI, 682 R, 212 SB in 1446 games. He was also credited with throwing out 44% of those that attempted to steal on him.
I believe his best three seasons were 1903 when he hit .350/.443/.493 with 4 HR, 55 RBI, 87 R, 34 SB in 113 games, 1908 when he hit .283/.401/.359 with 1 HR, 54 RBI, 70 R, 14 SB in 140 games and 1904 when he hit .284/.381/.410 with 5 HR, 33 RBI, 81 R, 13 SB in 109 games.
He won the World Series Championship with the Giants in 1905.
He also served as manager with the Cardinals (1909-1912) with a 255-352 record and Cubs (1915) with a 73-80 record. He also owned his hometown Toledo Med Hens from 1914-1924. At the time the Mud Hens were an independent Double A team.
