Harold J (Pie) Traynor was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1948 along with Herb Pennock. Traynor was a third baseman with 17 seasons MLB experience all with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1920-1935, 1937). For his MLB career he hit .320/.362/.435 with 58 HR, 1273 RBI, 1183 R, 158 SB in 1941 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1923 when he hit .338/.377/.489 with 12 HR, 101 RBI, 108 R, 28 SB in 153 games, 1925 when he hit .320/.377/.464 with 6 HR, 106 RBI, 114 R, 15 SB in 150 games and 1928 when he hit .337/.370/.462 with 3 HR, 124 RBI, 91 R, 12 SB in 144 games.
Traynor led the National League in triples in 1923 (19).
He was selected to two All-Star teams in 1933 and 1934. Traynor won the World Series Championship with the Pirates in 1925.
He was also the Pirates manager (1934-1939) with a 457-406 record.
