Paul Waner MLB Hall of Fame 1952

Paul G Waner was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1952 along with Harry Heilmann. Waner was an outfielder with 20 seasons MLB experience playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1926-1940), Brooklyn Dodgers (1941, 1943-1944), Boston Braves (1941-1942) and New York Yankees (1944-1945). For his MLB career he hit .333/.404/.473 with 113 HR, 1309 RBI, 1627 R, 104 SB in 2549 games. 

I believe his best three seasons were 1927 when he hit .380/.437/.549 with 9 HR, 131 RBI, 114 R, 5 SB in 155 games, 1929 when he hit .336/.424/.534 with 15 HR, 100 RBI, 131 R, 15 SB in 151 games and 1934 when he hit .362/.429/.539 with 14 HR, 90 RBI, 122 R, 8 SB in 146 games. 

Waner led the National League in batting in 1927, 1934 and 1936 (.373). He led the NL in doubles in 1928 (50) and 1932 (62). He led the NL in triples in 1926 (22) and 1927 (18). He led the NL in RBI in 1927. He led the NL in runs in 1928 (142) and 1934. 


He was an All-Star 4 times in (1933-1935, 1937). His 3152 career hits ranks 16th all time. Waner won the National League MVP in 1927. He was second in NL MVP voting in 1934.
