Gordon S (Mickey) Cochrane was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1947 along with Frank Frisch, Lefty Grove and Carl Hubbell. Cochrane was a catcher with 13 seasons MLB experience playing with the Philadelphia Athletics (1925-1933) and Detroit Tigers (1934-1937). For his MLB career he hit .320/.419/.478 with 119 HR, 832 RBI, 1041 R, 64 SB in 1482 games. He was credited with throwing out 39% of the runners attempting to steal.
I believe his best three seasons were 1932 when he hit .293/.412/.510 with 23 HR, 112 RBI, 118 R, 0 SB in 139 games, 1929 when he hit .331/.412/.475 with 7 HR, 95 RBI, 113 R, 7 SB in 135 games and 1930 when he hit .357/.424/.526 with 10 HR, 85 RBI, 110 R, 5 SB in 130 games. He threw out 39% of those that attempted to steal on him.
He won the MVP twice in 1928 when he hit .293/.395/.464 with 10 HR, 57 RBI, 92 R, 7 SB in 131 games and 1934 when he hit .320/.428/.412 with 2 HR, 76 RBI, 74 R, 8 SB in 129 games.
He was selected to two All-Star teams in 1934 and 1935. Cochrane won two World Series Championships with the Athletics in 1929 and 1930 and one with the Tigers in 1935.
He also served as manager with the Tigers (1934-1938) with a 413-297 record.
