Max G Carey was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1961 along with William Hamilton. Carey was an outfielder with 20 seasons MLB experience playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1910-1926) and Brooklyn Robins (1926-1929). For his MLB career he hit .285/.361/.386 with 70 HR, 800 RBI, 1545 R, 738 SB in 2476 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1922 when he hit .329/.408/.459 with 10 HR, 70 RBI, 140 R, 51 SB in 155 games, 1923 when he hit .308/.388/.452 with 6 HR, 63 RBI, 120 R, 51 SB in 153 games and 1912 when he hit .302/.372/.394 with 5 HR, 66 RBI, 114 R, 45 SB in 150 games.
Carey led the National League in stolen bases 10 times in 1913 (61), 1915 (36), 1916 (63), 1917 (46), 1918 (58), 1920 (52), 1922, 1923, 1924 (49) and 1925 (46). He led the NL in triples in 1914 (17) and 1923 (19). He led the NL in runs in 1913 (99).
Carey won the World Series Championship with the Pirates in 1925.
He was manager for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1932-1933) with a 146-161 record.
