King Kelly MLB Hall of Fame 1945

Michael J (King) Kelly was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1945 along with Roger Bresnahan, Dan Brouthers, Fred Clarke, James Collins, Edward Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Hugh Jennings, James O'Rourke and Wilbert Robinson. Kelly was a OF\C\3B with 16 seasons MLB experience playing with the Cincinnati Reds (1878-1879), Chicago White Stockings (1880-1886), Boston Beaneaters (1887-1889, 1891-1892), Boston Reds (1890-1891), Cincinnati Reds (1891) and New York Giants (1893). For his MLB career he hit .308/.368/.438 with 69 HR, 950 RBI, 1357 R, 368 SB in 1455 games. 

I believe his three best seasons were 1886 when he hit .388/.483/.534 with 4 HR, 79 RBI, 155 R, 53 SB in 118 games, 1884 when he hit .354/.414/.524 with 13 HR, 95 RBI, 120 R, (no record SB) in 108 games and 1887 when he hit .322/.393/.488 with 8 HR, 63 RBI, 120 R, 84 SB in 116 games. 

Kelly was twice the National League batting champ in 1884 and 1886. He led the NL in doubles in 1881 (27), 1882 (37) and 1889 (41). He led the NL in runs in 1884, 1885 (124) and 1886.

 Kelly had double duty as manager with the Boston Beaneaters (1887), Boston Reds (1890) and Cincinnati Reds AKA Kelly's Killers (1891).
