James E Foxx was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1951 along with Mel Ott. Foxx was a 1B\3B\C with 20 seasons MLB experience playing with the Philadelphia Athletics (1925-1935), Boston Red Sox (1936-1942), Chicago Cubs (1942, 1944) and Philadelphia Phillies (1945). For his MLB career he hit .325/.428/.609 with 534 HR, 1922 RBI, 1751 R, 87 SB in 2317 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1932 when he hit .364/.469/.749 with 58 HR, 169 RBI, 151 R, 3 SB in 154 games, 1938 when he hit .349/.462/.704 with 50 HR, 175 RBI, 139 R, 5 SB in 149 games and 1933 when he hit .356/.449/.703 with 48 HR, 163 RBI, 125 R, 2 SB in 149 games.
Foxx was the American League batting champ in 1933 and 1938. He led the AL in home runs in 1932, 1933, 1935 (36) and 1939 (35). He led the AL in RBI in 1932, 1933 and 1938. He led the AL in runs in 1932.
He was selected to the All-Star nine times (1933-1941). He won the American League MVP in 1932, 1933 and 1938. He was second in AL MVP voting in 1939. He won the AL triple crown in 1933. Fox won the World Series Championship with the Athletics in 1929 and 1930.
