James H O'Rourke was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1945 along with Roger Bresnahan, Dan Brouthers, Fred Clarke, James Collins, Edward Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Hugh Jennings, King Kelly and Wilbert Robinson. O'Rourke was an OF\C\1B with 23 seasons MLB experience playing with the Middletown Mansfields (1872), Boston Red Stockings (1873-1878, 1880), Providence Grays (1879), Buffalo Bisons (1881-1884), New York Giants (1885-1892, 1904) and Washington Senators (1893). For his MLB career he hit .310/.352/.422 with 62 HR, 1208 RBI, 1729 R, 229 SB in 1999 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1890 when he hit .360/.410/.515 with 9 HR, 115 RBI, 112 R, 23 SB in 11 games, 1884 when he hit .347/.392/.480 with 5 HR, 64 RBI, 119 R, (no record SB) in 108 games and 1875 when he hit .296/.313/.422 with 6 HR, 72 RBI, 97 R, 17 SB in 75 games.
O'Rourke led the National League in hitting in 1884. He led the NL in triples in 1885 (16). He led the National Association in home runs in 1874 (5) and 1875 (6). He led the NL in home runs in 1880 (6). He led the NL in runs in 1877 (68).
He had double duty as manager with the Bisons (1881-1884) with a 206-169 record and Senators (1893) with a 40-89 record.
