John Franklin (Home Run) Baker was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1955 along with Joe DiMaggio, Gabby Harnett, Theodore Lyons, Raymond Schalk and Dazzy Vance. Baker was a third baseman with 13 seasons MLB experience playing with the Philadelphia Athletics (1908-1914) and New York Yankees (1916-1919, 1921-1922). For his MLB career he hit .307/.363/.442 with 96 HR, 987 RBI, 887 R, 235 SB in 1575 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1912 when he hit .347/.404/.541 with 10 HR, 130 RBI, 116 R, 40 SB in 149 games, 1913 when he hit .337/.413/.493 with 12 HR, 117 RBI, 116 R, 34 SB in 149 games and 1911 when he hit .334/.379/.508 with 11 HR, 115 RBI, 96 R, 38 SB in 148 games.
Baker led the American League in home runs in 1911, 1912, 1913 and 1914 (9). He led the AL in triples in 1909 (19). He led the AL in RBI in 1912 and 1913.
Baker won three World Series Championships with the Athletics in 1910, 1911 and 1913.
