Herbert J Pennock was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 1948 along with Pie Traynor. Pennock was a LHP with 22 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Philadelphia Athletics (1912-1915), Boston Red Sox (1915-1922, 1934) and New York Yankees (1923-1933). For his MLB career he was 241-162 with a 3.60 ERA, 1227 K, 1.35 WHIP, 33 SV, 247 complete games, 35 shut outs in 3571.2 IP over 617 games.
I believe his best three seasons were 1924 when he was 21-9 with a 2.83 ERA, 101 K, 1.28 WHIP, 3 SV, 25 complete games, 4 shut outs in 286.1 IP over 40 games, 1923 when he was 19-6 with a 3.13 ERA, 93 K, 1.27 WHIP, 3 SV, 21 complete games, 1 shut out in 238.1 IP over 35 games and 1926 when he was 23-11 with a 3.62 ERA, 78 K, 1.26 WHIP, 2 SV, 19 complete games, 1 shut out in 266.1 IP over 40 games.
Pennock won four World Series Championships with the Yankees in 1923, 1927, 1928 and 1932.
