Odrisamer Despaigne was traded by the San Diego Padres to the Baltimore Orioles on February 4, 2016. The Padres in exchange received Jean Cosme.
RHP Despaigne was 5-9, 5.80 ERA, 69 K, 1.38 WHIP, .287 BAA in 125.2 IP over 34 games with 18 GS with the Padres in 2015. Over two MLB seasons with the Padres he was 9-16, 4.74 ERA, 134 K, 1.31 WHIP, .266 BAA in 222.0 IP over 50 games with 34 GS. He originally signed with the Padres in 2014 as a free agent out of Cuba, Despaigne turned 29 on April 4th.
RHP Cosme was 3-5, 4.74 ERA, 53 K, 1.12 WHIP, .217 BAA in 57.0 IP over 12 games at Class A Aberdeen in 2015. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 17th round in 2014. Cosme turned 20 on May 24.
