Sean Bierman traded to White Sox

Sean Bierman was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Chicago White Sox on October 16, 2013 along with Ben Kline to complete an earlier deal for Jesse Crain.

LHP Bierman split 2013 between Class A Bowling Green and Class A Advanced Charlotte. He was 5-4, 2.69 ERA, 52 K, 1.06 WHIP in 67.0 IP over 13 games at Bowling Green and was 1-1, 2.11 ERA, 16 K, 0.75 WHIP in 21.1 IP over 5 games at Charlotte. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the tenth round in 2012. Bierman will be 25 on October 20.

Kline is a utility player who played 3B\1B\2B\OF as he split 2013 between Class A Hudson Valley, Class A Bowling Green and Class A Advanced Charlotte. He hit .294/.368/.324 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 11 games at Hudson Valley, hit .281/.342/.375 with 0 HR, 8 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 10 games at Bowling Green and hit .192/.250/.212 with 0 HR, 3 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB in 19 games at Charlotte. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the 32nd round in 2012. Kline will be 25 on December 2nd.
