Bryan Holaday traded to Rangers

Bryan Holaday was traded by the Detroit Tigers to the Texas Rangers on March 29, 2016. The Tigers in exchange received Bobby Wilson and Myles Jaye.

Holaday is a catcher who split 2015 between Triple A Toledo and the Tigers. He hit .224/.282/.311 with 2 HR, 17 RBI, 18 R, 1 SB in 49 games at Toledo and .281/.292/.453 with 2 HR, 23 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 24 games with the Tigers. Over five MLB seasons with the Rangers and Tigers he has hit .252/.287/.364 with 5 HR, 42 RBI, 41 R, 1 SB in 131 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the sixth round in 2010. Holaday turned 28 on November 19.

Wilson is a catcher that split 2015 with Triple A Durham, the Rays and the Rangers. He hit .184/.273/.204 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 17 games at Durham, .145/.203/.145 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 25 games with the Rays and .221/.291/.325 with 1 HR, 10 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 31 games with the Rangers. Over eight MLB seasons with the Rangers, Tigers, Rays, Diamondbacks and Angels he has hit .214/.275/.313 with 11 HR, 65 RBI, 51 R, 0 SB in 271 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 48th round in 2002. Wilson turned 33 on April 8th.

Jaye joined the Rangers in a December 2015 trade.
