Futures Game 2016 US Team Outfield

The rosters have been revealed for the 2016 Futures Game to be played on July 10 at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the outfielders on the US team.

Andrew Benintendi is a left-handed outfielder who has split 2016 between Class A Advanced Salem and Double A Portland of the Boston Red Sox. He has hit .341/.413/.563 with 1 HR, 32 RBI, 30 R, 8 SB in 34 games at Salem and .282/.333/.462 with 4 HR, 4 RBI, 24 R, 6 SB in 40 games at Portland. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox with the seventh pick of the first round in 2015. Benintendi was born in Cincinnati, OH and will be 22 on July 6th.

Dylan Cozens is a left-handed outfielder at Double A Reading of the Philadelphia Phillies. He has hit .279/.362/.574 with 22 HR, 67 RBI, 68 R, 14 SB in 79 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the second round in 2012. Cozens was born in Scottsdale, AZ and turned 22 on May 31.

Clint Frazier is a right-handed outfielder at Double A Akron of the Cleveland Indians. He has hit .284/.369/.472 with 9 HR, 38 RBI, 48 R, 9 SB in 71 games. He was originally drafted by the Indians with the fifth pick of the first round in 2013. Frazier was born in Loganville, GA and will be 22 on September 6th.

Austin Meadows is a left-handed outfielder who has split 2016 between Double A Altoona and Triple A Indianapolis of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has hit .311/.365/.611 with 6 HR, 23 RBI, 33 R, 9 SB in 45 games at Altoona and .239/.271/.522 with 2 HR, 6 RBI, 7 R, 2 SB in 12 games at Indianapolis. He was originally drafted by the Pirates with the ninth pick of the first round in 2013. Meadows was born in Atlanta, GA and turned 21 on May 3rd.

Hunter Renfroe is a right-handed outfielder at Triple A El Paso of the San Diego Padres. He has hit .329/.351/.595 with 18 HR, 70 RBI, 62 R, 3 SB in 78 games. He was originally drafted by the Padres with the 13th pick of the first round in 2013. Frazier was born in Crystal Springs, MS  and turned 24 on January 28.

Christin Stewart is a right hand throwing and left hand batting outfielder at Class A Advanced Lakeland of the Detroit Tigers. He has hit .242/.388/.509 with 18 HR, 43 RBI, 42 R, 2 SB in 76 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers with the 34th pick of the first round in 2015. Stewart was born in Atlanta, GA and turned 22 on December 10.
